They are experienced in providing the best end of life support, helping people live as comfortably as possible during the last weeks or months of their lives. Langdale is a unique place which provides professional Nursing Care within a friendly and homely environment. We are sensitive that your decision for the need for nursing care involves a lot of change. It can mean giving up your home, reduced independence and moving to a place which is unfamiliar. Langdales’ staff will help to make this transition as smooth as possible by welcoming you, your family and friends. We sought feedback from commissioners that monitored the care and treatment of people using the service.
There is no charge whatsoever to appear in it, and we welcome a photo and descriptive text to enhance the presentation of your home. Just be aware that we do not provide housing or care services ourselves, so we cannot accept applications for housing and do not have any control over the services listed on our site. We have recently been able to open EAC Advice, a new 'housing options' advice service for older people.

During this difficult year, the only thing that has kept my family's peace of mind is that Dad is being very well cared for. For me, this is the longest time of not being to see or talk to Dad in my life. The staff are absolutely brilliant and take time to reassure me about Dad and knowing all his needs are well looked after is very reassuring. I cannot praise Langdale House enough and I have recommended them on several occasions. Day care offers a friendly and stimulating home-away-from-home, for people who are still living at home and may need some additional support during the day. All Langdale Care Homes are dual registered for the provision of residential and nursing care.
Background to this inspection
Whilst it is quite common for an individual to be affected by a sensory impairment at some point in life’s journey, we believe that this does not need to impact the quality of life. Sometimes all we need are individuals that can connect with us on a deeper level. We believe this can be achieved by breaking down barriers through communicating in a dignified and respectful way, showing compassion and sensitivity for delicate matters.
To have social, emotional, religious, cultural, political and sexual needs accepted and respected. Both our resident’s physical health and wellbeing are of paramount importance to us. And as such, our care planning process works with residents, their families and carers to ascertain their needs in terms of both medical care and complementary therapy too.
The service aimed to develop a positive ethos and an open culture. People were supported to have choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible; the policies and systems in the home supported this practice. Staff did not always have access to the supervision and training they required to work effectively in their roles. The manager told us they were working to develop more detailed staff training. People's care and support needs were monitored and reviewed to ensure care was provided in the way they needed. With a few exceptions, accommodation in a care home cannot be bought or rented like retirement housing.
We are committed to providing you with a high quality, homely, caring and safe environment. People were cared for by a staff team who were friendly, caring and compassionate. Positive relationships had been developed between people and staff.
